WCC 10th Assembly Sets Stage for Worldwide Christian Dialogue

BUSAN: Some 5,000 Christians representing more than 300 churches and 100 countries – including 2,500 Korean Christians -gathered at the World Council of Churches (WCC) opened its 10th Assembly in Busan, Republic of Korea, on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.

With the prayer “God of life, lead us to justice and peace” as a theme, the assembly will host one of the most diverse gatherings of Christians in the history of the ecumenical movement. As assembly participants come together for 10 days, they will review the work of the WCC, determine its overall policies, issue public statements and elect a new central committee.
